The variation is dwindling.
All cities looks the same.
All stores laid out the same way.
Food is predictable, neither good nor bad.
Stores are filled with variations of the same stuff. Just stuff.
Car design is unimaginative. Different color, same shape.
Music, Decoration, Style???
Yawn....
How did we get here?
We collectively celebrate those among us that have provide something novel. Whether it is a scientific discovery, or delicious food. Those among us with mind bending talents which draws us in. We celebrate the unique abilities and gifts of people, we know their names and preserve them over time. Sometimes these names live thousands of years for us.
It is the unique, the outliers, the unexpected, and creative that has allowed us all to become what we are. Humans advance not from repeating the same things but with the billions of variation that come from us being us.
Undoubtedly, it is far easier for calculating how much we will accept, how little we expect, and economically maximize profit when the measure is the same for all.
But is this good for humanity?
